Bed Throw Yūgen
We partnered with one of the last living traditional indigo dyers in Japan, Cozo Cazama, to offer one-of-a-kind, beautiful, indigo-dyed bed throws. As you wrap yourself in this luxurious, handcrafted indigo bed throw, you are embraced by the sun, resources, and rain that nourished the indigo and cotton plants, and the love, tradition, and dedication that transformed them.
Yūgen is offered in two styles:
Heiwa Sora (Peaceful Sky): The spacious feeling of floating fluffy clouds filling an expansive sky. A sense of relaxation and breath.
Sasayaki Kaze (Whispering Wind): The serenity of soft, soothing wind as it creates ripples gently across the water, bringing a sense of tranquility and calm.
Description
Experience the mystery, elegance, and subtle timelessness of Japan‘s indigo dyeing tradition, hand-dyed by Cozo Cazama, one of the few remaining aizome dye masters in Japan. Each thread dyed and woven into the fabric of this blanket is infused with potentiality, a promise of health for our own bodies and the planet we share. Each masterpiece lives as a vivified, sensorial experience of Yūgen (幽玄) – the sense of profound grace associated with the natural world and with the mysterious exchange of energy that manifests beauty from the dust of the universe.
This limited supply of one-of-a-kind, hand-dyed bed throws results from a cultivation process that takes nearly a year, and the many decades of Master Cazama's devotion to the art. This piece one to be treasured for years and decades to come.
